WMAG will exhibit condensed looks: Big Land, Small Landscapes

End of the portage of Michael Everett.

The Main Street of Norway by Michael Everett.

NORWAY – From June 18, Michael Everett will exhibit a collection of small landscape paintings at the Matolcsy Art Center of the Western Maine Art Group, 480 Main Street, Norway. The theme of the show is Condensed Looks: Big Land, Small Landscapes.

Michael Everett began painting in oils to capture his impressions of the remote places of northern Maine. Several of his paintings are scenes from the Allagash and Saint John rivers. As his interest and skills grew, he became more intrigued by the sheer pleasure of painting, especially seeking vitality in his use of color. He paints (mostly) landscapes of (mostly) familiar places, and can often be found painting outdoors in his neighborhood of North Auburn.

The exhibition will be open on June 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 27 – Friday, Saturday and Sunday – from noon to 4 p.m. For more information, please visit Western Maine Art Group on Facebook.
