TORRINGTON – Hospital Auxiliary Charlotte Hungerford is displaying Cheryl Bartley’s artwork through early November in the hospital’s main lobby, 540 Litchfield St., Torrington. The public is invited to view and purchase the works during regular visiting hours as part of the Auxiliary’s ongoing “Artist of the Month” program. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the artwork supports CHH auxiliaries and the Charlotte Hungerford Hospital.

A painter of folk art, Bartley’s artistic talent manifested itself from an early age when she made her first works of art as a medium of communication. Raised in a French-speaking Canadian family, she relied on a brush and a can of paint to express herself to her English-speaking friends. Her precocious love of expressing herself with her art has earned her working for over 45 years as a professional artist, she said.

According to the statement, Bartley unleashes his imagination and creativity from his “Folk Art Spirit” studio in Winsted, CT. His preferred medium is acrylic on canvas and wood and watercolor on paper. The inspiration for his long-standing fascination with telling stories with paint is revealed in his folk art-inspired designs. Each painting will enchant you with its joyful and detailed scenes from simpler times. She uses vivid color blends to produce scenes from her imagination and real places that are warm and inviting, vibrant and exciting. Her folk art collection can be viewed in her studio in Winsted and at www.cherylbartleydesigns.com.

Bartley holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in fine arts. She teaches art for recreation departments, private places and organizes painting parties for adults and children in her studio. It licenses its folk art images to manufacturers through Art Licensing International to put on products such as puzzles, fabrics, embroidery, home decorations, posters, canvases, prints. , greeting cards, garden flags, LED wall decorations and much more.
